Hip Braces

Hip Abduction Orthosis

A hip abduction orthosis is a brace used to treat hip dysplasia in infants.

Features

  • Effectiveness of the hip abduction orthosis is based on the principle of using the seated squat position with flexion in excess of 90° combined with moderate abduction.
  • Reproducible hip flexion setting allows for adjustment using beaded cords and simple closures.
  • Abduction can be adjusted using the spreader bar.
  • Easy handling.

Indications

  • A hip abduction orthosis is used to treat hip dysplasia in infants (types IIa and IIb hips according to Graf).
  • When monitored by an experienced orthopedist at frequent intervals, a hip abduction orthosis can also be used in cases of instable or decentered hips (types IIc and IId according to Graf).

Coxa Stable Hip Orthosis

A coxa stable hip orthosis is a brace that is used to stabilise the hip joint and restrict rotation.

Features

  • Modular design
  • Multi-axial joint
  • High stability
  • Light weight
  • Comfortable
  • Limitation of movement can be adjusted using multi-axial joint.
  • Stabilises the hip joint.
  • Restricts rotation.

Indications

  • A coxa stable hip orthosis is used in the prevention and treatment of TEP loosening.
  • A coxa stable hip orthosis is used to treat instability of the hip joint.

Post-operative hip braces

A post-operative hip brace stabilises the hip joint and restricts rotation.

Harder braces are used to stabilise the hip/pelvic area in such a way as to partially immobilise the hip/pelvic area. A post-operative hip brace is also suitable for post-surgery use.

Post-operative hip braces are available in a range of styles and sizes.

AK Suspension Belt

An AK suspension belt is used to stabilise the hip joint and to restrict rotation.

Features

  • Adjustable waistband.
  • Customised fit.
  • 3.2mm Tex neoprene provides maximum grip.

Indications

  • Used in treatment of instability of the hip joint.

Pavlik Harness

A pavlik harness is used to treat hip dysplasia in infants.
